Resubmission (also called reattempts) – important information

You may be allowed to resubmit if you were marked NOT SATISFACTORY on your first attempt provided you submitted your assessment by the due date. Your trainer will advise you if you can resubmit and the resubmission date. Your trainer will provide you with feedback to help you improve your revised answer.

To provide a revised answer, put a heading REVISED ANSWER under the question/section you must re-answer and type your new answer. Look at the example at the top of your template.

Task summary

Induct and brief coaches and trainees.

1.

You are now required to induct and brief one of the coaches and one of the trainees you have matched and following the induction processes you developed as part of your coaching guide.
You will role play the coach and will select another student to role play the trainees.
Conduct the induction and complete your induction checklist as a record that you have conducted the induction. As a guide the induction should be for approximately 30 minutes.
During the induction, you will need to demonstrate effective communication skills including:
· Speaking clearly and concisely
· Using non-verbal communication to assist with understanding
· Asking questions to identify required information
· Responding to questions as required.
· Submit your completed induction checklist to your assessor.

Monitor and review coaching strategy.

Assume that it is 3 months since the coaching strategy commenced and you have requested all coaches and trainees involved in the coaching program to complete the Feedback Form you developed as part of the Coaching Guide.
Review the Feedback Summary of Coaching Relationships documents collated from feedback forms provided to coaches and trainees.
Develop a Coaching Strategy Monitoring and Review Report that addresses:
· Progress of coaching strategy
· Analysis of coaching outcomes for individual staff members
· Analysis of coaching outcomes for staff collectively
· Additional opportunities for coaching as per the analysis of the feedback provided
· Highlighting positive contributions that staff members have made to coaching activities so as to recognise and acknowledge these.
· Evaluation of the coaching strategy to date, including recommendations for improvement.
3. Submit your Coaching Strategy Monitoring and Review Report to your assessor.

This assessment is to be completed in the simulated work environment in the RTO.

For your performance to be deemed satisfactory in this assessment task, you must satisfactorily address all of the assessment criteria. If part of this task is not satisfactorily completed, you will be asked to complete further assessment to demonstrate competence.

You will be provided feedback on their performance by the Assessor. The feedback will indicate if you have satisfactorily addressed the requirements of each part of this task.

Recruitment, selection and induction policy and procedures

Policy Statement
Client is committed to recruiting and selecting quality staff and inducting staff to ensure they understand their job role and can follow all required procedures.
Client is also committed to ensuring that where a staff member’s employment is terminated, this is completed in accordance with the law and with sensitivity.
Principles
Selection decisions will always be made on merit so as to avoid discrimination and unfairness.

Employee termination will be handled sensitively and with fairness.
Scope
This policy and procedures applies to all staff who undertake recruitment, selection, induction and termination. This policy and procedures is supported by, and linked to the company’s Strategic Plan, and Staff Code of Conduct.

Procedures
1. Recruitment, selection and appointment.
The following procedures will be followed for recruitment.
· Prior to the recruitment process commencing, HR to develop a position description or access an existing position description. Ensure all information in the position description is accurate and identifies the key responsibilities, key selection criteria and desirable skills and attributes.
· HR will advertise the position using the organisation’s preferred medium(s) and Ad templates. Ads will clearly specify the purpose of the role, key selection criteria, mandatory qualifications and a contact name and number,
· Following receipt of applications, HR and the responsible manager will develop a shortlist of applicants based on the applications provided and their suitability to the role. Ensure that all shortlisted applicants have mandatory qualifications required of the position or the ability to obtain them.
· Interview of shortlisted candidates will be completed with HR and the responsible manager at the interview. Standard questions will be used, and accurate notes will be taken.
· Following the interview, HR and the responsible manager will agree on the selected applicant and referee checks will occur using the Reference Check form.
· Letter of offer to be sent out to successful candidate/s and rejection letters to unsuccessful candidates using standard letters.
· Letter of offer is developed using standard template

2. Induction
· HR creates a staff file for the new staff member and all documents relating to the recruitment process are stored.
· Staff member completes all required documentation for employment, including contracts, staff details forms and TFN notice.
· Ensure signed contract is on file.
· Induction plan is created and initial induction completed.
· Inductions as per plan are conducted during the first three months, which is also the probationary period.
· At least 2 days prior to the probationary period lapsing, HR will hold a review and support session with the employee. This session is to be used as a feedback and review from both parties on the probationary period.
· A forward plan for development and training needs is to be developed during this session and agreed to by the employee.
· If the employee’s performance is not satisfactory,
